Dance has always been a constant in my life. My earliest memories of dance are from living in Puerto Rico, where during hurricanes the power would go out and everyone on the block would gather in someone's marquesina (car garage) to eat, listen to music and of course, dance. From those early experiences, and continuing through my family's move to the continental United States, dance became an incredible source of structure in my life. I trained in all styles during my adolescence and eventually went on to study Horton Technique at The Alvin Ailey School, Musical Theater Jazz at Broadway Dance Center, Laban Movement Analysis at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, and Modern Dance at Rutgers University where I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance.
Throughout my dance career, I have been drawn to movement that tells a story. Some of my favorite performance credits include playing “Boo Who” in the Broadway National Tour of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, performing as a “Special Ability Dancer” in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, and appearing as a featured poolgoer in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights. Other credits include ensemble dancer and vocal soloist in the Fulton Theatre’s production of Evita, dance captain for Crossroads Theatre Company’s A Christmas Carol, and collaborator/performer in developmental workshops through the 92nd Street Y and New York Theatre Barn. Additionally, I've had the opportunity to perform for BCEFA’s Red Bucket Follies at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway and at the Latino Commission on AIDS' Cielo Fundraising Gala at Cipriani Wall Street, combining my passion for dance with causes that support and give back to the community.
